The ADC Young Guns 7 competion has pushed back the submission deadline to May 22, 2009 so you still have a few more days to polish off your portfolio.

I just found out about this documentary film by Megumi Sasaki about a very unique pair of art collectors. Herb and Dorothy Vogel have amassed over the past several decades one of the most important contemporary art collections in history. All the pieces were acquired at modest prices and were small enough to fit into the couples tiny Manhattan one bedroom apartment. Some of artists include; Sol LeWitt, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Richard Tuttle, Chuck Close, Robert and Sylvia Mangold, Lynda Benglis, Pat Steir, Robert Barry, Lucio Pozzi and Lawrence Weiner. Over the years the artwork has appreciated to be worth millions yet the couple never sold anything to break up the collection. Much of it was given to the National Gallery of Art in 1992 as an outright gift. After watching the trailer I am really excited to see this film which will be screening in various US cities this summer.

It is that time again for you to dust off your portfolio and submit to the Art Directors Club Young Guns 7 competition. If you are a creative under 30 years old then you are eligible. To find out more visit here.
